A bit of history:

Ventura County Fusion are an American soccer team, founded in 2006. The team is a member of the United Soccer Leagues Premier Development League (PDL), the fourth tier of the American Soccer Pyramid, and play in the Southwest Division of the Western Conference, against teams from Bakersfield, Calabasas, Costa Mesa, Fresno, Glendora, La Mirada, Lancaster, San Francisco and San Jose.

The Fusion play the majoirty of their home games at Bulldog Stadium on the grounds of Buena High School in the city of Ventura, California, 60 miles west of downtown Los Angeles. Occasionally, games are also held at Panther Stadium on the grounds of Newbury Park High School in the city of Thousand Oaks, California, 15 miles east of Ventura. The club's colors are blue, orange and white.

The team played their first competitive game on April 28, 2007, a 2-1 victory against fellow expansion franchise, Lancaster Rattlers.

The Fusion played against English Premier League side Everton, in a closed friendly at the Home Depot Center on July 24, 2007. The match was organised by their head coach, Graham Smith, who "wanted it to be a reward for their great play during their inaugural season".
