A bit of history:
Major League Soccer (MLS) is a professional soccer league sanctioned by FIFA as the top flight of the American Soccer Pyramid. The league is comprised of 13 teams in the United States and one in Canada. The league will expand to 14 teams in 2008 with the reintroduction of San Jose, and 15 teams in 2009 with the addition of a franchise in Seattle, although it is anticipated one additional team will join the league in 2009 or 2010.
