A bit of history:
IFK Norrköping is a Swedish football club based in Norrköping. The club, formed on 29 May 1897, is currently playing in the highest Swedish league, Allsvenskan. The most successful period of the club was in the 1940 under the Hungarian coach Lajos Czeizler (1942-1948).
Norrköping dominated Swedish football in the post war era and won the first division 11 times in 20 glorious years culminating in the league triumph of 1963. It took the club another 26 years before adding championship title number 12 to the trophy cabinet. The team of 1989 was well balanced with players such as keeper Lasse Eriksson, Jan Hellström, Sulo Vaattovaara, Igor Ponomarev and youngsters including 17 year old Johnny Rödlund from Manchester United.
2007 IFK Norrköping was promoted to Allsvenskan after 5 long years in the second highest league Superettan. Norrköping's colours are blue and white and reflect their heritage as an IFK club.
