Alicante Club de Fútbol is a football team based in Alicante in the Valencian autonomous community. Founded in 1918, it plays in Segunda División after promotion in the 2007-08 season from Segunda División B in the playoffs. Its stadium is Estadio José Rico Pérez with a 30,000 capacity.
Alicante CF have been one of the best teams in the Spanish football third level for several seasons, but have missed out on promotion in the playoffs. They played in the second division in 1939-1940, 1951-1952 and 1956-1958.
