About the logo:

Moroka Swallows Club has established it’s self as a brand with rich history and recognition over the past 60 years. The club was born in Moroka Jabavu in Soweto in 1947 as a result of three soccer lovers who had the dream to start a football club. Choosing a name for the team was not an easy task and a few different names were debated. Names such Moroka Sweepers were suggested but Moroka Swallows prevailed as it was said that birds fly high than lowly sweepers!

Over the past 60 years, the club’s logo has signified an emblem of pride, worn on hearts of all those who have played, worked and supported the club over many years. The logo has evolved through several stages however the core elements have always remained the same, the maroon & white colours of the logo, the soccer ball and the Swallow always flying from right to left.

The new Moroka Swallows logo’s design has been built on the same principles. The design has been made to be cleaner, sleeker and more modern in its appearance. It is designed be relevant and appeal to the current supporters, as well as the emerging youth market.

Core elements of the new Swallows logo are Maroon and white colours, 3D effect, ball and swallow flying right to left.
