A bit of history:
Clube Desportivo Trofense, commonly known just by Trofense is a Portuguese sports club from the city of Trofa. Its foundation goes back to 1930.
In the 2005-2006 season Trofense played in the Portuguese Second Division Serie A, which they won by a margin of 6 points. Then, Trofense, played a playoff with Serie B winners AD Lousada, that decided promotion to the League of Honour. Trofense won in a very emotional game, only decided on the 20th penalty scored by Trofense's goalkeeper Vítor. Trofense is now playing in the Portuguese League of Honour (Liga de Honra).
