A bit of history:
The club was founded in 1947 as Elektryczność Płock. In 1993 team’s name was changed to ZKS Wisła till 1992 when Polish oil company Petrochemia became his owner. First time Petrochemia was promoted to Polish First division in 1994 but relegated after one season. In 90s sponsor’s name was changed 2 times - to Petro in 1999, and Orlen in 2000, and that’s why the club name was modified and the crest looked like a commercial logotype. Club’s colours were changed to White and Red.
In 2002 club’s authorities decided to restore the historical name of the team - Wisła Płock and Blue-White-Blue colours.
