A bit of history:

The club was founded in April 1919 near the Society of Catholic Youth, and named KS Polonia Nowe Miasto nad Drwęcą in 1922.  The current name, Drwęca came from the local river and the club started using it in 1945. In the begining of 2009 Jakub Malicki redesigned Drwęca’s crest basing on historical emblem with the original river’s stroke. From January 2005 till June 2006 the club was using sponsor’s name and played as KS Finishparkiet Nowe Miasto Lubawskie.
