A bit of history:
Polski Związek Piłki Nożnej (PZPN, the Polish Football Association) was founded on December 20th 1919 during the first meeting of Polish clubs in Warsaw. A year after the independence of Poland (in 1918) 31 clubs created this association, inter alia: Czarni Lwów, Lechia Lwów, Pogoñ Lwów, Cracovia, RKS Kraków, Wisła Kraków, ŁKS Łódź, Polonia Warszawa and Warta Poznañ. Nowadays there are above 5,690 football clubs registered in PZPN.
There's the main association in Polish football and it controlls the Poland national football team. PZPN has been the member of FIFA since April 20st, 1923 and the member of UEFA since March 2nd, 1955.
Polish national football team won the brown medals of World Cup 1974 and 1982 and there were the greatest successes in the history of Polish football.
