A bit of history:
Groclin Dyskobolia was founded in 1922 as KS Dyskobolia Grodzisk Wielkopolski. The name and Dyskobolia's logo refer to Myron's sculpture 'The Discus Thrower'.
There were 2 fusions in the club history (KS Dyskobolia and Florencja in 1925 and KS Dyskobolia and Orkan Ptaszkowo in 1993).
This football team played in lower Polish leagues till the mid of 90s, when Zbigniew Drzymała (the president of the Inter Groclin Auto) decided to be an owner of the club and changed it's name to KS Groclin Dyskobolia. The club reached Polish top level in 1997.
In 2002/03 and 2004/05 Groclin Dyskobolia was the vice-champion of Poland.
