A bit of history:
Tromsdalen U.I.L. is a Norwegian football and sports (among others skiing and gymnastics) club founded in 1938, from the city of Tromsø. The football club was promoted to the Norwegian first division in 2003, but was relegated after one season. They plays their home games at Tromsdalen Stadion, which seats 3,000 spectators. Their colors are red and blue. The club was reintroduced to the second highest flight of Norwegian football, which in the mean time had changed its name to Adeccoligaen, in 2005.
After a poor start to the 2006 season, Tromsdalen was in the renegotiation zone for most of the season. But a very good ending of the season, beating many top clubs, Tromsdalen survived the drop and will play in Adeccoligaen in the 2007 season as well.
After winning promotion in 2006, Tromsdalen's women's team now plays in the women's 1st division, making Tromsdalen the only team in Norway to have a team in the second highest tier of both women's and men's football.
