A bit of history:
FC Libourne-Saint-Seurin are a French football team currently playing in Ligue 2 of the French league. The club was founded in 1998 with the merger of AS Libourne and l'AS-Saint-Seurin. The club, nicknamed the penguins, were promoted to Ligue 2 from the Championnat National after the 2005-2006 season.
AS Libourne was founded in 1935 by Georges Kany with their first match being played on the 5th of May against Taillefer. Their stadium was shared with the local rugby team (rugby being the most popular sport in the south west of France). AS-Saint-Seurin was founded in 1927.
