About the logo:

Víkingur is a Faroer football club, that resulted from the merging of GÍ Gøta and Leirvík ÍF in 2008. Vikingur name was chose after a public opened competition. The club received many suggestions, but they decided on the one from Rúni Bjarkhamar from Leirvík.

The logo was designed by Bárður Mikkelsen (from Gøta) after Víkingur made a public opened competitions to make a new logo. The club received about 50 suggestions, but in the end picked Bárður's draw.
