About the logo:
The history of LDU began in 1918, when students from the Universidade Central del Ecuador formed a football squad, called Universitario, embryo of the actual LDU.
Only in 1930 the club was stablished, as Liga Desportiva Universitaria, or LDU as it's called. The club's uniform was an all-white with an red "U" on the chest. In the 1990's the "U" became white over a blue-and-red triangle. Since 2008 the club uses a golden star on top of the logo, representing that year's winning of Copa Libertadores.
