A bit of history:
Fonseca Atlético Clube was founded in the neighbourhood of Fonseca, Niterói, in October 12th 1917. Since it's foundation the club uses the same striped logo.
Before the merging of the former Guanabara and Rio de Janeiro states, the club won three state championships, not included in the chronology of the actual Rio de Janeiro state championship, considered continuity of the Guanabara one.
