A bit of history:
Americano Football Club was founded in June 1st 1914 in the city of Campos dos Goitacases (RJ), and it's colours are the black and white. It's first logo was inspired on America Football Club from Rio de Janeiro, soon replaced by a monogram-in-badge one (identical to another club from Rio de Janeiro city, also called Americano Football Club).
After winning nine consecutive city championships in 1975, the now called Americano Futebol Clube began to uses nine red stars around it's logo on the shirt, sometimes with a black line surrounding the stars. In 1987 the club added a gold star, for the national second dividion of that year.
