A bit of history:
The Fluminense Football Club was founded in July 21st 1902 in the city of Rio de Janeiro. "Fluminense" means "native of the state of Rio the Janeiro". The clubs first colours were gray and white, and the logo half gray half white with FFC initials in red. These colours didn't please must of the club's member, and a new colour was decided in 1904: maroon, green and white. The badge: half maroon, half green with white monogram. In 2002, for the centennary of Fluminense, this logo gained a new design.
Since 1987 Fluminense wears three golden stars on the shirt, for the three "tricampeonatos": 1917-19, 1936-38 and 1983-85.
