A bit of history:
America Football Club was founded on September 18th 1904, in the neighbourhood of Tijuca, city of Rio de Janeiro. It's first colours were the black and white, and the first logo a simple white monogram.
In 1908 the club became red and white, and the logo changed to a round'shaped white initials over the red shirt. In 1913 this logo gained a white line surrounding it, and since then the logo never changed.
On the 90's America used one golden star on the shirt for the Champions Tournament of 1982. Since the end of the century Americo would add seven more stars, all on silver, representing it's seven state honours.
