A bit of history:
South Hobart Soccer Club' is a football club which plays in the Tasmanian Southern Premier League. The club also fields teams in all junior divisions, as well as women's teams. South Hobart play their home games at South Hobart Ground, a picturesque ground at the base of the slopes of Mount Wellington with sweeping views over the city and Derwent River. However the Club's headquarters and training ground are located at Wellesley Park , Wellesley Street, South Hobart.
South Hobart Soccer Club is the oldest Association football club in Tasmania, as well as one of the most successful. They have won the State Championship a record 12 times. Add to this a remarkable 15 Southern titles, 11 KO Cups, and 6 Falkinder cups plus various other trophies, and they stand out as Tasmania's most successful club. They played their first match on 21st May 1910 . South Hobart won the league for the first time in 1919, and won the next five in a row. Although successful through their existence, they have failed to emulate this early glory. The 60's saw the influx of ethnic based clubs, and South Hobart has taken until the 21st Century to return to their former glory.
