About the logo:

Melbourne Knights SC was formed by a small group of Croatian immigrants in 1953 (as 'Melbourne Croatia SC'). The club has since developed into a major force in domestic Australian soccer, winning the National Soccer League title twice during the 1990's.

The old Melbourne Knights club crest was created in 1996 (using certain elements of the original club crest worn during the period 1994-95).

The main feature of the crest is an "attacking knight".

"The attacking knight is not meant as a gimmick", states John Ovcaric, the club's Chief Executive; "as one of the oldest continuous clubs in Australia - having fought against overwhelming odds and having conquered every holy grail in Australian soccer - it was only natural that such a fine majestic figure would best represent the fighting spirit of the club".

Behind the knight, a divided shield represents the club's Croatian heritage (red and white chequers) and the Australian national flag (mainly blue). Red, White and Blue are also the club's traditional colours.

Completing the crest is the full club name, reproduced using a modern font.
